It verifies control of a fresh address at capture time using TX1 funding and TX2 marker payment.

Does this prove current wallet balance forever?

No. It proves control and captured amount during the verification window only.

Do I need to create an account?

No account is required.

How long is a session active?

Sessions are time-limited. If a session expires, start a new one.
